Utilizing the latest release of Finale or Sibelius software packages, the industry standards for digital music engraving, we will transform, prepare, and deliver your hand written composition into clean, readable sheet music suitable for performance, publication, or study.

Beyond copying and engraving original musical compositions, we will provide musical notation services for existing printed music, this service may be desired for any number of reasons: the music be out of print or difficult to find, arrangement modifications to the existing printed score, transposition to a different key, the existing sheet music may be of bad quality and difficult to read, etc.

Whatever the purpose and the goal of the project is for our clients, we approach each assignment with the same professional approach and care for detail whether it is a full orchestral score or a short piano-vocal transposition. We closely study each work before we begin and review our interpretation and formatting ideas with the client to assure that the project goals are on track from the beginning.

The following is a basic guideline for the pricing of a music copying and engraving project:

SATB Choral Octavo	$20-$25/page
Chamber Ensemble score	$25-$30/page

Project estimate guidelines

Each project will have variables that will determine the final cost. These variables for the most part will depend on the music's complexity, note density, length, and number of instruments. We will always work to give you the most cost effective pricing option possible that will meet your needs and budget.

The rate ranges listed above are based upon a page size of 8 1/2" x 11" or 9" x 12". To get a idea of what your project will cost, the following are some general guidelines of what the final layouts will be:

*Piano:a typical page is set to 4 measures per system with 4-5 systems per page. This as stated above will depend on music complexity, note density, meter, etc. A Vocal-Piano piece will at most allow for 4 systems per page and sometimes only 3 again depending on variables and lyric spread often reduces measures per system.

*Chamber Ensemble: as with piano, the average musical work will provide for 4-5 measures per system again depending on the variables listed above. Systems per page will depend on the instrument count- a string quartet can yield up to 3 systems per page, while ensembles 5 or above will typically be limited to 2 systems per page.

*Large Ensemble: this includes symphonic orchestra, concert band, and opera works. Again, assume an average of 4-5 measure per system with 1 system per page. With that being said, larger sheet size and, layout reduction, and system optimization can at time yield 2 systems per page in final formatting. These options can be discussed during the initial quote period.

*SATB Choral Octavo: layout prepared for either 8 1/2' x 11" or 7" by 10" page size. Typically 3-5 measures per system, depending on lyric spread and note density, with a system comprising of SATB, piano, and solo staff(s) if part of composition. 3 systems may be possible on some pages if composition is reduced to one or two vocal ranges for several measures.
